Alberto Conti has signed for the Lions

Orsi Derthona Basket announces that it has signed guard Alberto Conti. Alberto, a 1.93m winger born in 1998, took his first steps in the world of basketball with the BSL San Lazzaro shirt and continued his growth in the youth sector of Virtus Bologna, with which he managed to gain more than one level of satisfaction regionally (Under13 title and Under14 title the following season), and nationally, with the Under17 Scudetto in 2013/14 under the guidance of coach Sanguettoli. Alberto then chose to attend his fourth year of high school in the United States, dividing his time between his studies and his presence in the first team at the Combine Basketball Academy in Charlotte. Once he returned to Italy, in the first days of April he joined Pol. Pontevecchio, contributing to the salvation obtained through the playouts in Serie C Gold (for him 8.5 points in 21 minutes of average use). 

Thus sports director Miro De Giuli: “We are happy to welcome a young but certainly talented boy, who in recent months has shown courage and resourcefulness by deciding to spend a season away from home to move to the United States to study and play. The experience at the Combine was certainly formative, like the period spent at Pontevecchio, where he fit in quickly despite arriving just a few weeks before the start of the playouts. The challenge that awaits Alberto with the Derthona shirt is difficult but particularly stimulating: I am convinced that this can be an important stage in his growth path."
