Minibasketball Beginners – provincial finals
The semi-finals took place on the morning of Sunday 17 May, with 4 teams on the field and around sixty kids playing. More difficult victories than expected for the favorites Derthona and Casale over Fortitudo Alessandria and Asti respectively. Finals that travel on parallel tracks ending curiously with the same score. For 3rd and 4th place the team from Alessandria got the better of their peers from Asti, who, after having chased their opponents for three quarters, in the final came close to Alessandria without however managing to turn the tide of the match. Similarly, in the final, Casale, without some starters, immediately got the better of coach Caenazzo's Derthona who, in the true spirit of mini-basketball, gave ample space to all the members of his team, managing, in the last quarter, to worry the favorite opponents. On the afternoon of Saturday 16 May, a beautiful event which saw the participation of 6 teams divided into two groups, with around a hundred children engaged on the two playing fields of the "Uccio Camagna" sports hall. In the "Armana" gym the 2005 Olympia Casale team, albeit narrowly, got the better of the 2004 hosts Derthona, after both had got the better of Asti. In the "Codevilla" gym, however, Casale's 2004 team ranked ahead of the mixed team from NoviSerravalle and Derthona 2005. Therefore in the finals respective successes for Derthona 2005 on Asti, Derthona 2004 on Novi-
Serravalle and finally for Casale 2004 on the companions of 2005.
