The Allianz Derthona U17 Excellence team's Italian expedition begins: their debut at the National Finals in Agropoli on Monday.
The Under 17 Excellence of the black and white club On the evening of Sunday 17 May he will take part in the opening ceremony of the National Finals of the category, scheduled to take place at the Palasport Andrea di Concilio di Agropoli. The young Lions have been included in the Group A together with EA7 Emporio Armani Milan, Victoria Libertas Pesaro and Vis Ferrara. The debut is scheduled for Monday 18 May at 14 right against Ferrara.
This is the third consecutive year for the Derthona Basket youth sector, with two teams (U17 and U19) appearing in the National Finals. For the U17 Excellence team, this is their fourth appearance in the last five editions.
The next two group matches are scheduled Tuesday 19th and Wednesday 20th May, will be scheduled based on the outcome of the first match.
The head coach of the U17 Excellence, David Roncari presents the black and white expedition: "We're ready to begin this wonderful adventure, the fruit of a year of tremendous growth," says the coach. "We know what lies ahead, but we can't wait to compete against the best teams in Italy: the level will be extremely high, and we want to test ourselves against anyone. We'll face this challenge with great enthusiasm and with the knowledge that, by playing together and with a spirit of sacrifice, we can entertain and delight. A clear head and a big heart will help us go as far as possible."
FORMULA At the end of the three matchdays of the group stage, only the first-placed team will advance directly to the quarter-finals, scheduled for Friday, May 22.
The second and third placed teams in the group, however, will have to face the play-offs on Thursday, May 21st, facing the second and third placed teams in Group B, made up of Roseto Basket Academy, Stamura Ancona, Dolomiti Energia Trento and Pordenone.
The semi-finals will be played on Saturday, May 23, while Sunday, May 24, will be dedicated to the podium finals, with the one for the title of Italian Champion 2025/26 scheduled for 18:30 pm.
All matches will be played in Agropoli, between Andrea di Concilio Sports Hall and Cilento Pala.
