Gulliver Supermercati Derthona began its journey in the Play-In Gold of the Interregional Serie B with a defeat, losing at home at the PalaCamagna in Tortona against Le Patrie Etrusca San Miniato.
After a back-and-forth start, with the score tied, two consecutive triples by the Tuscans allow the guests to close the first quarter in the lead (13-17). After the first mini-break, the team coached by Luca Ansaloni, still without the injured Nicolò Gatti and Tommaso Diodati, comes back with a different pace, managing to reduce the gap to -1, but the good moment for the black and whites doesn't last long. San Miniato opens an important partial with Menconi and Caglio as protagonists, allowing the guests to extend their lead to +15 and go to the locker rooms with a score of 26-41. In the second half of the game, despite some attempts at recovery, Derthona struggles to find the right rhythm, leaving the guests in control of the match. The home team is thus unable to complete the comeback and gives in at home with the final score of 51-73 in favor of the Tuscans.
The next match for Gulliver Derthona will be on Monday 24 February away at the PalaTagliate against the home team Basketball Club Lucca, with tip-off set for 20:30 pm.
