Allianz Derthona Tortona dominated the second day of the IBSA Next Gen Cup, earning its first victory of the 2025/26 edition with a clear 112-94 victory over Trapani Shark.
Too much Tortona for Trapani on the second day of the inaugural stage in Verona. Allianz started strong at the Palazzetto dello Sport in Villafranca di Verona, immediately imposing their rhythm and closing the first quarter at 27-16. Even in the second period, coach Talpo's team, after a few initial minutes of difficulty, found fluidity in attack and, thanks to numerous offensive rebounds (10), continued to widen the lead. The score went into the long break at 65-42 in favor of the Lions.
In the second half, Tortona maintained the high intensity and further increased their lead. Josovic (23 points), Bottelli (18 points and 4 assists), and Di Meo (16 points and 4 assists) led the Bianconeri's run, allowing the team to enter the final quarter with a reassuring lead that paved the way for victory. The final quarter only served to confirm the victory: coach Talpo expanded the rotations and the Lions closed with a 112-94 lead, thus securing their first victory in this Next Gen Cup.
Andrija Josovic put in a stellar performance, finishing his second game with a double-double of 23 points and 11 rebounds. Bottelli also had a stellar performance, shooting almost flawlessly: 24 points (3-of-5 two-pointers, 5-of-5 three-pointers, 3-of-4 free throws), 4 assists, and an overall rating of 30.
