Gulliver Supermercati Derthona made an excellent home debut , securing an important victory against Social OSA Milano, their first in the Serie B Interregionale championship of the Conference Nord Group B.
At the Pala Camagna in Tortona, home team Gulliver Derthona prevailed over Lombardy's Social OSA Milano. Coach Talpo's team got off to a great start, having struggled with the absence of Bellinaso. A Lombardy three-pointer at the buzzer at the end of the first quarter tied the game at 23-23. The tie persisted throughout the second half, with both teams battling for the lead. Taverna's libero sealed the lead, sending the teams into the locker room with a 40-39 lead.
Upon returning to the court, a 7-0 run by the Lombardy team immediately put Tortona in trouble, falling to within 10 points. A powerful 11-1 run in the final quarter from Andrija Josovic (33 points, 10 rebounds) reopened the game and changed the momentum, bringing the score to 73-73 with 2 seconds left.
Nasini's triple a few seconds later in response to Borasi's tap-in and the turnover on offense seemed to seal the game, but the two good defensive plays by the black and whites, with Josovic making 3/4 free throws in the final 10 seconds, gave Gulliver their first championship victory.
Gulliver Derthona's next match, the third matchday of the Interregional Serie B, is Saturday, October 11th, away to Boffalora against Magic Oleggio.
