Fioretti: "Our worst game of the year."
Coach Mario Fioretti's comments at the press conference following Bertram Derthona Tortona's 88-69 loss to Una Hotels Reggio Emilia in the 28th round of the Unipol Serie A: "It was our worst game of the year. We're disappointed; we started very slow in the first quarter, missing a lot of easy moves on offense and playing average defense. Then in the second quarter, we went off the rails, defending poorly, making poor shot choices, and losing a lot of balls. From there, the game took a turn. Reggio was really solid, kudos to them. They didn't give up anything in the second half, we never managed to give the impression we were coming back, and so they controlled the game until the end."
By overturning the 14-point deficit from the first leg, the Emilian team, now two points behind Derthona in the standings, have reopened the race for fifth place, currently occupied by the Bianconeri: "Oh, sure, indeed. Before coming to the press conference, I didn't have a chance to see the results of the others because I obviously had to focus on our own things, but it's obvious that, given the way Reggio and all the others are playing, it will be a war until the final day," the Tortona coach concluded.
