Derthona and Torre Basket Pordenone present 'Shared Identity'
The sensitivity for the territory and for the positive messages of sport, the desire to undertake a shared growth path and the development of common initiatives are the basis of the project 'Shared Identity', signed and presented by Bertram Derthona e ASD Torre Basket Friday at the Palace Hotel Moderno in Pordenone.
The partnership between the two clubs was born last year with the loan to the Lions of Gloris Tambwe (athlete born in 2005), who was added to Serie A at the end of the season and played in the Under 19 and Under 17 excellence championships with the tank top of the Leoni and the C Silver with Olympia Voghera.
Over the following months, the two Clubs worked together on the development of a 360-degree growth project, from the technical component to the social one, to training and discussion between the people who work there every day.
The presentation press conference on Friday 15 July 2022 illustrated the development of the common project and was opened by the very welcome speech of Emanuele Loperfido, Deputy Mayor of Pordenone, who expressed the approval of the municipal administration and the satisfaction of having Derthona Basket alongside an important city reality such as Torre Basket.
To delve into the more practical aspects of the collaboration, there was a succession of interventions by Fulvio Silvani e Teresa Fini, respectively President and Vice President of Torre Basket, and of Ferencz Bartocci, CEO of Bertram Derthona.
Thus Fulvio Silvani: “I thank the Presidents of the Clubs involved in the project and I thank Gloris Tambwe, who started this beautiful relationship between two Clubs who have mutual sympathy. Over the years, we have developed social projects such as 'Tiro Libero', which is aimed at children with disabilities who are placed in normal contexts. We are also working on initiatives linked to the territory and the involvement of schools in our activity. We see how Derthona Basket continually improves, so it will be important to be able to draw on their professionalism to grow from all points of view: from administration to communication, with the hope that this shared project can bring new partners closer and represents the flower of the eye that allows us to develop further initiatives".
The comment of Teresa Fini: “I thank Ferencz Bartocci and Derthona Basket for the opportunity to collaborate together. Gloris Tambwe was the launching pad for this project which must be a starting point for developing any type of collaboration. Torre Basket is a club founded in 1982 which now has 180 members, a growing number even in the Covid-19 period thanks to the contribution of the staff and managers, all volunteers. At a sporting level we have achieved excellent results and we have around ten teams between the youth sector and mini basketball. We intend to promote both sporting and human growth, through the promotion of positive values and principles, such as teamwork. With Derthona we are organizing twinning moments with insights into sporting and social topics, evaluating the opportunity to involve the first team. A two-week summer camp in 2023 is among the ideas: a moment of technical improvement and above all training for the kids of the two clubs".
The words of Ferencz Bartocci: “A wonderful feeling was born immediately with the President and with the Torre Basket Company. I bring greetings from our Club, from the owners headed by Dr. Beniamino Gavio, to President Marco Picchi and from Andrea Ablatico, Sports Director of the youth sector. Derthona Basket is a reality which, over the years, is playing an increasingly greater role as a point of reference for local activities as well as for sport (the gathering of the first team which will take part in the second consecutive year is scheduled for mid-August Serie A Championship) also for social purposes. If on the one hand we have invested a lot in the team, thanks to our ownership we can say that we do the same in the people and young people who work for the Bianconeri colors on a daily basis. We were all impressed by the project called Futuro Insieme Pallacanestro Pordenone (FIPP) between the Pordenone clubs (Villanova, Rorai, Torre, Sistema Rosa and Nuovo Basket 2000), demonstrating the passion for basketball present in the city which goes beyond parochialism. We work for the growth of children, we raise awareness of the importance of social media and the attention to be paid to posts. We participate and organize initiatives against cyberbullying and make our professionalism available for moments of discussion. With the schools we started the 'PiantiAMO il futuro' project, born in the time of Covid-19 and rooted in various initiatives that aim to respect the environment. An awareness project on CO2 consumption was recently presented, which we will fuel with social campaigns. The objective of the partnership with Torre Basket is to bring together the people who work in order to share experiences with the aim of growing and improving. We want local partners and beyond to be involved in all our activities".
