The 2026-27 Preseason Schedule
An early start before mid-August and seven opponents to face between scrimmages and more traditional friendlies, before presenting themselves at the start of their sixth consecutive adventure in the Serie A championship set for the last weekend of September.
This is the 2026-27 preseason program for Derthona Basket, which features Bertram in national competitions and Baglietto in its first ever season in the BKT EuroCup.
AUGUST The group, coached for the second consecutive year by Mario Fioretti and his assistants Iacopo Squarcina and Andrea Vicenzutto, will begin their activities with physical tests on Monday, August 10th, at the Cittadella dello Sport facility in Tortona, where the Bianconeri Lions will have spent almost the entirety of their forty-day preparation for the new season's official matches. The first training session is scheduled for the morning of the following day, Tuesday the 11th, with an athletic session at the Fausto Coppi Stadium in Tortona—the venue for the first three mornings of training—under the direction of athletic trainer Jacopo Torresi and his assistant Francesco Sciarretta, followed in the afternoon by the first basketball practice at the facility.
With the exception of the mid-August break, the double-round daily training sessions will continue for the opening three weeks of preparation, each of which will include three scrimmages. The first match will be on Saturday the 22nd at the PalaBakery in Piacenza against Serie A2 team Fortitudo Bologna (time yet to be determined). The second-tier opponent for the first home game will also be Urania Milano, on Wednesday the 26th at 17:30 PM in the Facility. The three-game series will then conclude with the first match against a team Derthona will face in the league, Pallacanestro Cantù, on Saturday the 29th, also scheduled for 17:30 PM in the Facility.
September There are some exciting events coming up as the month approaches, leading up to participation in the LBA Super Cup and the start of the league and EuroCup. After a friendly match on Wednesday the 2nd at 5:30 PM against the Swiss Lions Geneva, also in the Cittadella's secondary gym, the team will be in Liguria on Saturday the 17th to strengthen its special bond with the region's many fans, who will be able to attend a test at the PalaRavizza in Alassio (SV) against the Sharks Antibes, a team from the French second division.
Upon returning to their home base, Derthona will travel again on Wednesday the 9th to Parma to face Virtus Bologna in the "Matteo Bertolazzi Memorial" at the PalaCiti. On Saturday the 12th, they will face another Serie A team from Emilia, Pallacanestro Reggiana, a sort of dress rehearsal at the Nova Arena ahead of the LBA Super Cup on Saturday the 19th and Sunday the 20th, held at their home stadium. In between, to close out the preseason, the team will be officially presented to fans, along with the BCC Derthona women's team and Derthona Baskin: the match is scheduled for Thursday the 17th at 6:00 PM in Cittadella.
