Derthona's All-Time Quintet in Serie A2 is completed: the center is Luca Garri
The voting to elect the best center - and last member - of the Derthona Basket All-Time Quintet in Serie A26 concluded today morning, Sunday 2 April. Competing for a shirt in the ideal Juventus Starting Five were Luca Garri, Andrejs Gražulis and Quirino De Laurentiis.
To come out on top, thanks to the votes expressed by the fans on the Club's official website, www.derthonabasket.it, and on the Derthona Basket App, it was Luca Garri, who thus completes the All-Time Quintet of the Lions in Serie A2. During the four years spent in Tortona, the center born in '82 and Olympic vice champion with Italy in Athens 2004, contributed significantly to the growth of a club which has confirmed itself - over the last few years - among the best in the West group of the Serie A2 Old Wild West championship.
The most important success achieved by Luca in the black and white jersey was the Serie A2 Italian Cup raised, as team captain, to the skies of Jesi on 4 March 2018 at the end of the final won 89-57 against Ravenna. A historic victory that brought the first Serie A2 trophy in the Club's history thanks to an irresistible run in the matches against Trieste, Biella and, finally, Ravenna.
Garri was a key element in the tactical board of Derthona Basket in the entire period spent with the number 15 shirt of the Lions, thanks to his experience and his double internal and external dimension (with a strong gift in three-point shooting) which allowed the various coaches who succeeded at the helm of the team to propose different technical solutions in the various situations of the competitions.
The final phase of the survey to elect Derthona's All-Time Quintet in Serie A2 was carried out with the precious collaboration of Gruppodigit, a company that became part of the great team of partners of the Juventus Club starting from the beginning of the 2019/20 season . A partner who immediately showed attention to the affairs of the Lions on and off the pitch and who supported the club in this important initiative.
Marco Spissu, Ramon Galloway, Mirza Alibegović, Giampaolo Ricci and Luca Garri: they are the five names who left - thanks to their talent, their energy and their determination - the best memories among all the players who defended the black and white of Derthona in the six Serie A2 championships played so far. They are the five members of the All-Time Quintet of the Lions in Serie A2 Old Wild West.
