Battipaglia arrives at the Cittadella dello Sport: coach Cutugno's words and the curiosities of the match

With the Coppa Italia Final Four in Turin now over, it's time for Autosped BCC Derthona to dive back into the regular season of the Women's Serie A1. Tomorrow's match againstO.ME.PS Battipaglia (tip-off at 18pm) inaugurates a cycle of four home matches out of the five remaining challenges for the Giraffes to conclude their first regular season in the top division in their history.

The two teams have already faced each other twice in 2024/25 and on both occasions - the first leg and the first qualifying round for the Coppa Italia - it was the team trained by coach Cutugno that prevailed at the buzzer. Tomorrow's match is therefore the third challenge between BCC and Battipaglia: at the moment, the two teams occupy fourth and eighth place in the standings respectively.

As usual, the match was introduced by coach Orazio Cutugno: "After the important experience of the Coppa Italia Final Four in Turin, we have the duty to dive into the end of the regular season with maximum energy and team connection, focusing as always on one game at a time. Facing Battipaglia will put us to the test right away, because they are a good team that has had time to prepare for the game. We are coming off a very convincing performance and it is our job to try to replicate it and improve our game even more, taking to the field with the mentality of not being satisfied but growing further".

CURIOSITIES AND EX OF THE RACE – Sofia Marangoni (247) is three rebounds shy of 250 in her career with BCC.

The former player of the match is Giovanna Smorto, who wore the number 28 jersey of BCC in the 2022/23 season, in which the team - right in Battipaglia - won the Coppa Italia Serie A2, the first national trophy in its history.
