Another night to remember and engrave in the history of Bertram Derthona's first season in Serie A. The Lions, after having chased in the first half, played an extraordinary second half for continuity and put an end to Brescia's winning streak, which stopped at 14 games. Four players scored in double figures at the siren (Macura and Wright 21 points, Sanders and Daum 12 points) demonstrating a truly collective success.
Complex start to the match for Bertram, who suffered the defensive energy of Brescia: the guests increased their score thanks to some baskets on the counterattack and led 15-26 after the first ten minutes. In the second period the match proceeds in fits and starts, with partials and against partials: in the last minutes Derthona manages to get back under the double-digit deficit and ends the first half trailing 32-41.

Over the course of the season we achieved results when we performed well, like tonight: I believe the key was the growth in the technical, physical and tactical level of our defence. I have great respect for what Brescia has done this season: in our profession, finding sources of inspiration is beautiful, so what coach Magro and the team have done is truly a source of admiration. I think that in the first half it was difficult to get into the game, for us, for how Brescia was playing and for the public to come after us because we were struggling a lot, then I think that Wright fired up the public and our boys made some plays that rewarded us the fans of the support given. On Saturday we need this energy and unity of purpose against an opponent who runs like Varese.".
